A DIY 'Christian Music' label from 1972. Salt's only release was a single, 'Benedictus' b/w 'Song Of Praise No. 2', by Ishmael & Andy. Its catalogue number was EBC-1 / EBC-2, with the 'B' having its own number. The material on the record is just acoustic guitar, tambourine and two singers; it's quite catchy if you don't mind the devotional lyrics. Ishmael & Andy - actually Ian Smale and Andy Piercy - recorded an LP for Myrrh in 1973; they went on to achieve considerable popularity in the Christian Rock field, Ishmael with a series of solo albums, Andy as the front man for hitmakers After The Fire. Pressing was by British Homophone, and the single can be found with three or four perforations. Thanks to Robert Bowes for the scan.
