SATURN (1)

The earliest of two Saturn labels to appear in the 1970s, this was the product of the Hayling Island Recording Studio.  The only single that I have ever seen listed on this particular Saturn is the one shown above, 'My Way' b/w 'Next Time' by Gee Kenny, which came out in 1971.  Klepsie, of the 45cat site, has been kind enough to write to say that HAY/EP-006 was an EP by Blue Sand containing 'The Dream' and three other tracks.  HAY/LP-011 was another 7" record, despite its prefix: it was an EP by Louise (Hartnett) with 'The Bay' and a couple of other tracks on it.  It was to be played at 33 1/3 rpm, so presumably the 'HAY/LP' prefix was as much dependent on the speed of a record as the size.  The gaps in the numbering suggest that there should be at least nine other Saturn records out there; though if, as I suspect, they are custom recordings, they may not exist in any great quantities.  Thanks to Sam Mauger for bringing the label to my attention and for supplying the scan.
