SGWAR

A label from Wales, apparently a small independent concern.  Sgwar ('Square') put out three records, all of them in 1978.  The first was a Classical LP, 'Yr Oriel Gelfyddyd' ('The Art Gallery') by Consort Pres Gymreig (The Welsh Brass Consort), which had a catalogue number of RSCG-001.  By way of a contrast the second two were EPs by Punk band Y Trwynau Coch (The Red Noses); they continued the numbering but had a different prefix, RSR.  RSR-002 offered 'Merched Dan 15' ('Girls Under 15') and three other tracks; RSR-003 also contained four tracks, of which 'Wastod Ar Y Tu Fas' ('Always On The Outside') was the lead.  The band's records subsequently appeared on the Coch label (q.v.), which they owned.  Thanks to Hawkmarty of the 45cat site for permission to use his scan here.
