SHOW BUSINESS EMERGENCY APPEAL FOR ISRAEL

One of those cases where I've had to use text on the record as an identifier despite the fact that it almost certainly wasn't intended to be a label name.  Golda Meir, Prime Minister of Israel from 1969-74, featured on several records including a Lyntone flexi-disc from 1969 and three albums, but the one that concerns us was a vinyl single offering a recorded message from her on one side and 'Hatikva' by the Haifa Symphony Orchestra on the other.  Both sides had the text 'Show Business Emergency Appeal For Israel' on them, and the catalogue number of the single was MP-1.  There's no date on it, but according to Klepsie of the 45Cat site, who was kind enough to bring the record to my attention and to allow me to use one of her scans here, it was manufactured by Pye.  Pye singles finally stopped having that 'canal' effect around the spindle hole in July 1971, which gives us a 'not after' point.  The record could of course have come out in 1969, the year that Mrs. Meir took office, as the canals were still a feature then, but I think it's worth the risk so I've allowed it a page on this site.  If anybody can provide an actual year of issue - or indeed any other information - I'd be pleased to hear from them.
