SIR

The record label of Cabaret band Sweet Illusion, from
Kent. Sir issued two LPs by the band: the first, 'Sweet
Illusion' (SIR-111 / DTS-007), was made through DTS Records (q.v.)
of Rochester, and dates from c.1976; the second, 'Two Sides Of Sweet
Illusion' (SIR-222), seems to be from c.1978. The record which qualified
the label for this site, however, was the one pictured above, an EP featuring
their version of 'When A Child Is Born' and three other tracks.
It had a catalogue number of EP-162, and it too was recorded at
DTS. There is no date on it but the Lyntone matrix number, LYN-5926,
places it in early 1979. There was also a cassette, '438 Feet Of Sweet
Illusion', which may be from the '80s. The tracks on the 'B' side of the
EP were 'Speak Softly Love', which is a trumpet-led instrumental, and a
medley of Beatles songs, 'Around The Beatles'.
