SIR COLLINS MUSIC WHEEL
A Reggae label, run by producer Clancy 'Sir'
Collins. Sir Collins Music Wheel was a successor to the Collins Down
Beat label of the late '60s. It issued at least eight singles and one
Various Artists album in 1972-73, and added a further album to its catalogue in
1981 under tragic circumstances - Collins's son was one of a dozen people killed
in a house-fire at New Cross, and the LP was a tribute to
them. Numbering of the singles was in two different series, SCMW-000
initially, and then SC-00. The colour of the labels varied: some were
white with black printing and others white with red printing, while the first
single can be found with a pink label, as shown in the scan above - the scan
appear by kind permission of Charlie Chalk of the 45cat
site.
