A DIY / small independent label from the end of the decade. A single by The Playboys, 'Nightbus' b/w 'I'm In A Movie', seems to have been Smash Hit's only release. It had a catalogue number of HIT-1, and it had a different label design for both sides. There was no date on the labels but 45Cat has it as 1979 and Discogs narrows that down to November, which sounds reasonable. Pressing was by Orlake. As for what's in the grooves: the 'A' is Reggae-influenced, the 'B' is in a Power Pop / Mod vein. Thanks to Klepsie of the 45Cat site for bringing Smash Hit to my attention.
