SPACEWARD

The label of Spaceward Studios of Cambridge.  Mike Kemp and Gary Lucas set up the studios in 1972, and the label seems to have been launched in the following year.  Most of the tracks recorded at Spaceward appear to have been issued on other companies' labels, but a number of records came out on the studio's own label.  The only 1970s 7" records that have surfaced so far are Phil Newman's single 'Our Last Song Together' (SRS-10) and an EP by Breeze, 'Volume One' (SRS-11), both of which came out in 1976.  Mark Graham let me know that Spaceward had two new releases scheduled for 2012 - the label's first for some thirty years.  Thanks to him, and also to Sam Mauger for bringing the label to my attention.  John Timmis (1) and Robert Bowes (2) were kind enough to provide the scans.
