STICKY LABEL (STK prefix)

The first of two 'Sticky Label' labels to appear towards the end of the 1970s, this appears to have been an offshoot of Gold Records - see 'Gold (GD Prefix) - as it operated out of the same address: 21, Tower Street, London WC2.  'Cambridge Stomp' b/w 'Front Room Revolution', by New Wave group Push (STK-500; 1978) seems to have been its only release.  Demo copies were marked in the style used by President Records at the time (2), as were those of Gold.  The matrix number of the single, GD-011, fits in with the catalogue numbers of Gold singles.  Unlike those of Gold, the labels of Sticky Label do not credit President with marketing.  Again, according to 'Music Master' distribution was by Rough Trade / Lightning rather than President.
