STRANGE
Another small independent company from the
golden age of such things, the late '70s and early '80s. As can be
seen from the label, Strange was based in Burnham. It issued at least
two 7" records, both of them by The Mystery Girls. The first was an EP
entitled 'Sounds Like The Mystery Girls' which came out in 1979 with a catalogue
number of HAM-1 and offered the tracks 'Famous Men' and 'Baby Baby' in addition
to the two shown on the scan above. The second a maxi-single, 'I'm A Believer',
came out two years later and was numbered HAM-2. The pressing marks on the
EP suggest a Linguaphone pressing. Thanks to Sam Mauger for bringing the label
to my attention.
