ST. ANDREWS UNIVERSITY MADRIGAL GROUP

A second 'label' from St. Andrews University, though as was the case with the Renaissance Group's EP there was no label name as such and I've had to name it after the artists.  As can be seen from the sleeve, the Madrigal Group has a long history.  It is making CDs today (2014), but the disc which concerns us is the EP shown above.  There's no date on it, but the sleeve gives the dates of recording as June 1971 and February and May 1973, and it seems reasonable to suppose that the EP came out not too long after that - the 'Issue number', 74-1, may well refer to 1974.  Googling doesn't tell us if there were any other issues.  The sleeve also reveals that manufacturing was by Pye and Orlake, which is helpful - the rough apperance and the smooth outer rim suggest an Orlake pressing.  Thanks to Stephen Small for bringing the label to my attention and for providing the scans.
