ST. ANDREW'S, UXBRIDGE

A DIY label. In 1973 the Choir
of St. Andrew's church, Uxbridge, recorded a Christmas EP called
'Carolcade', under
director Brian Trant. As can be seen from the scan there was no label name
on the record, but as I've had to call it something and the catalogue
number was STAU-1 I've chosen to take those letters as initials, more or
less, and go with 'St. Andrew's, Uxbridge'. Tracks on the record are
'Ding Dong Merrily On High', 'In The Bleak Midwinter', 'Torches', 'The Nativity
Carol' and 'De Virgin Mary'; proceeds from sales went to the church's Choir
& Organ Fund. Pressing was by small independent company C.H.
Rumble. The labels were laminated, which seems to have been a process
peculiar to that firm.
