ST. PANCRAS

A DIY label from the Punk years.  St. Pancras's claim to fame is that it introduced Scritti Politti to the world, via the single 'Skank Bloc Bologna' (SCRIT-1; 11/78).  The label of that record was white, and the credits were hand-stamped on to it (1, 2).  An EP called 'Work In Progress' (SCRIT-2 / RT-34; 11/79) followed, in co-operation with Rough Trade (3, 4).  The band's subsequent records were on Rough Trade and later Virgin.  Thanks to Paul Winsall for the scans of the first single, and to Robert Bowes and Steve Hill for those of the Rough-Trade-era records.
