SUNSHOT
A Reggae label, operated by Phil
Pratt. Sunshot started out in Jamaica in 1966; it issued singles in
Britain from 1975-c.78, using an SS-000 numerical series. The first
single, Keith Poppin's 'Envious', came in two different label designs, one of
which is presumably a later pressing than the other. There were two
singles numbered SS-003; Pat Kelly's 'Soul Love' had the same 'triangle' design
as that of the last Keith Poppin single shown above (5); I would guess that
these were later than the other issues. Googling reveals several
other singles numbered from SS-20 up and in the PP-00s, but as I haven't
been able to pin them down to a year I haven't included them in the discography
below. They can be found on Tapir's Reggae Discography site; some, with
illustrations, are on the 45cat site. Thanks to Robert Bowes, who supplied
all the scans except the third.
