THE BIBLE LANDS SOCIETY
The Bible Lands Society was a Christian missionary / aid
organization based in High Wycombe. It was founded in 1854 as The Turkish
Mission Aid Society, became The Bible Lands Missionary Society in 1893, and
evolved into The Bible Lands Society in 1962. 1996 saw a further change,
to BibleLands; a move to Amersham in 2010 was followed by another name change,
to Embrace The Middle East, in 2012. It is still going under that name
today (2025). It seems to have been responsible for just the one record, a
Christmas EP featuring the Bethlehem Home For Blind Girls Choir. In
addition to the tracks shown on the scan above the EP offered renderings of
'Peace Upon Earth', 'No Beautiful Chamber' and 'Merry Merry Christmas'.
Its catalogue number was DRI-15672, which doesn't fit any series that I've come
across. There are no dates on the labels but the pressing marks strongly
suggest an Orlake pressing from 1978 so I've made bold enough to give The Bible
Lands Society a page on this site.
