THE ECHOES

One of those cases
where a label lacks a name and I have had to use the artist's name to give
it some sort of an identity. In 1979 Country band The Echoes put out a
four-track EP called 'Standin' Tall', which, in addition to the title
track, contained their versions of 'You're Sixteen', 'Echo Bonita' and
'Wreck Of The Old No. 9'. The EP had a catalogue number of 79-1,
which I suppose was logical enough, and there's an additional matrix number in
the run-offs, ECH-5 . The label looks like a product of
Westwood records (q.v.), of Montgomeryshire, a company which made a lot
of Country recordings, but that could just be a coincidence. The pressing marks suggest that Linguaphone handled the manufacture.
