THE SOUND OF ISLAY
Scottish, and one of those cases where a 'label name' may
actually have been the name of an EP - The Sound of Islay is a stretch of water
between the islands of Islay and Jura, but the phrase could be used
punningly as describing the songs and / or music of Islay itself. Be that
as it may. In 1971 Ian Carmichael put out a four-track EP offering
'Sine Bhan' and 'Theid Mi G'ad'amharc' in addition to the two titles shown
above. As indicated by its catalogue number, TD-6878, it was made through
Craighall Studios, of Edinburgh (q.v.). It appears to have been the sole
release of both the artist and the label. Thanks to Steviebgoode of the 45Cat site for permission to use his scan here.
