YARD BEAT
A Reggae label. There's no date on what appears to be
Yard Beat's only 7" single, 'Jah Spoke To I' b/w 'Yuh Wa Tan Style' by Rasi,
but the 45Cat site has it as 1975, which sounds
reasonable: that kind of 'Polo mint' pressing mark around the
spindle hole was current mainly from 1975-77. The catalogue number of the single
was YB-001. YBs 002 to 004 were 12" only and were presumably from the late '70s, when
12" singles became very popular with Reggae buyers. The label appears to have been
revived in the 1990s for another half-dozen or so releases. Thanks to Sam Mauger for
bringing Yard Beat to my attention and providing the scan.
