YILDIZ PLAK

Possibly
Turkish. Yildiz Plak was responsible for at least a couple of 7"
vinyl records, both of which featured Turkish music. First out of the
blocks was 'Varim Yogum' b/ w 'Mutlulugu Sende Buldum' by Katkin (YDZ-001) which
came out in 1977. The second, Konkurt Gurubu's 'Nazlanma Guzel Nazlanma'
b/w 'Aleyli' (YDZ-002), is pictured above. Granted, it doesn't look
English, but its matrix number, LYN-6528, shows that it was pressed by Lyntone
in 1979, which suggests either that Konkurt Gurubu may have been Turkish
expatriates living in Britain or that the record was pressed in Britain for
export to Turkey. I've given the label a page here in case the former is
correct - the band certainly performed in London and released cassettes there,
so it seems like a reasonable bet. The Katkin record had a different label
design - it was basically white with orange-coloured segments at the top and
bottom.
